Sandbox environment (Option)

Sandbox environment (Option)

Scenarios for using Sandbox Environment

The Sandbox Environment option lets you create a test environment from my production environment. Starting from a blank environment or a copy of the production environment on which they are located.

The Sandbox environment lets me :
  1. Test a new configuration
    1. By allowing me to duplicate all or part of my production environment to test changes to configuration, rights, etc.
  2. Test a new configuration from scratch
    1. I create an “empty” environment to test configurations without being polluted by my current Abraxio configuration.
  3. Train my collaborators in a risk-free environment
  4. Test APIs in an environment similar to my production environment.
    1. If I need an environment with data for API testing before going into production.

Offer details

The “Sandbox Environment” offer provides access to a Sandbox for each production environment subscribed to.

Sandbox environment management

In order to create a Sandbox environment, I must have subscribed to the offer and have Admin rights to access the Admin → Integrations → Sandbox Environment tab.

When I click on “Create environment”, I'm asked to give it a name and whether I want to create it empty or by copying the production environment (only the tasks will not be copied).

Info
Please note that copying a production environment may take more or less time. By choosing this option, I'll be alerted by e-mail when the dirty bin environment is finalized.

Info
Once my environment has been created, I need to reconnect to Abraxio to access my production environment or sandbox.

Once connected to my sandbox environment, several visual elements remind me that I'm not in my production environment, such as the vertical bar on the left of my screen, which is orange, and the mention of Sandbox Environment at the top right of my screen.

In order to delete or rename my sandbox environment, this is done from my production environment, Admin → Integrations → Sandbox environment

Notes
Offer limitations:
  1. Only invitation and password e-mails are sent from a Sandbox.
  2. Licenses are counted across all environments. Using a Sandbox license therefore monopolizes an Abraxio license.
